The weather remained fair for the second day of competition at Aspen Farms Horse Trials (AFHT) in Yelm, WA. The Zeit Capital Open Training and all Beginner Novice and Novice divisions completed cross-country; and Training Rider, Junior Training, Preliminary, Intermediate, CIC1* and CIC2* divisions completed stadium.

The CIC2* stadium course designed by Tremaine Cooper proved to be highly influential to the leaderboard, with only two pairs of 17 riding double clear and two eliminations. Thanks to their clear round, Sabrina Glaser and Hypona To Be True (pictured above) moved from fourth to first on their dressage score of 48. Sabrina, who is from Langley, British Columbia, is also placed third with Rembrant and sixth with Bryn Carregwen Serendipity. Anne-Sophie Levesque and Eskapade had just one rail and two time penalties to move into third on a score of 55.1.

Sara Sellmer and Amy Click’s Oldenburg mare, Rubia, held their lead in the CIC1* with a clear round and room to spare over AFHT’s beautifully painted fences. Stephanie Cooper and her own Thoroughbred gelding, Sketchy Past, held their second place spot, even with one rail and two time penalties. Marc Grandia and Campari FFF, owned by Team Rebecca LLC, moved from fourth to third with just one rail.

Attila Rajnai and Harry Houdini stayed in first place in Open Intermediate.

Attila Rajnai and Harry Houdini continue to lead the Open Intermediate after a clear show jumping performance. Bianca Linder and Codigo are first in Open Preliminary, and Jordan Beckingham and Snap Decision II and Mia Edsall and True Story are tied for first in Preliminary Rider thanks to their clear stadium rounds.
